Our Team

Why Choose Us?

Our local primary care landscape has changed significantly over the last ten years. Patients are experiencing greater difficulties accessing their provider when needed.

It’s difficult to find and keep a provider who knows you and cares about your long-term health goals while happily accommodating your immediate health needs. Patients and their long-term health outcomes suffer most from these changes.

This is contributing to a broken primary care system.  Some common issues patients are experiencing at other offices are:

  • Many patients experience frustration when trying to reach a provider by phone.
  • Some offices respond slowly—or impersonally—to calls, questions, or follow-ups.
  • Appointments may feel rushed, with limited time spent face-to-face with the provider and poor communication overall.
  • In some cases, patients may feel that their beliefs, values, or expectations aren't respected or understood by the provider, staff, or practice as a whole.

Dimitri Ghecas PA-C PT MBA

Dimitri began his healthcare career in 1993 as a Physical Therapist in hospital and outpatient Orthopedics.  After several years of practice, he fell in love with primary care and attended the Drexel University PA program in Philadelphia.  Upon completing his medical training at Drexel, Dimitri practiced primary care/internal medicine in Connecticut for more than 21 years while working part-time in Emergency Medicine, Orthopedics and Urgent Care.

The majority of Dimitri’s primary care experience was as Practice Administrator and chief PA of a large, independent Internal Medicine and Cardiology group in rural Connecticut.  In this role, he gained a deep understanding and appreciation of the importance of patient-provider relationships built on respect, trust and communication.

While Dimitri enjoys all aspects of primary care and family medicine, his special interests are Preventative Cardiology and helping patients to reduce their risk for premature cardiovascular disease and diabetes.  He also enjoys primary care Orthopedics.

Dimitri’s goal is to use his experience and enthusiasm for helping people to build healthy and effective primary care relationships and to make Sacred Heart Primary Care Medicine a welcoming, safe primary care home for you and your family.
